Standing Out
The weather outside felt like spring yesterday. The sun's rays warmed you and yet there was a gentle breeze blowing, creating the perfect temperature to play outside.
My seven year old daughter, Ashley, noticed a large patch of clover growing in the grass. She stooped down to consider its beauty when she plucked up a four leaf clover! In a squeal of pure delight she ran over to share her precious find with me.
She kept on looking through the clover patches until she had found 10 four leaf clovers!!! I was amazed because in my 42 years I've NEVER even found one.
I started thinking about that four leaf clover. It is different from all of the rest. If we were four leaf clovers, we would probably be unhappy because of our differences. The irony is that the four leaf clover is valued because it is unique.
I believe we need to value ourselves as Christians who are not conformed to this world, but are different because of God and the Holy Spirit in us. God values us because we don't look like the world, lets see our worth through His eyes as we are the treasured four leaf clovers that heaven is searching for.

Oh we are a rarity aren't we, Sonya! May I always be that four leaf clover that heaven is searching for.
Blessings.
That's so awesome! I have never found a four leaf clover and believe me, I've done some looking in my time. She should press them.
Wow - that is amazing! I've never found one either (although I am only 41 - LOL!!!!)
You are right, the very things that we don't like because we are different do make us unique. It's okay to be different.
Great words & analogy today, Sonya!
Amen, I love this! We are the Kings Daughters but some of us don't know this yet. Some one shared a clover story almost identical to this when I was a child. I love how God moves is u to get His thought out.
Great post!

I love Marsha's comment. May I always be that four leaf clover that heaven is searching for too.
I've never found a four-leaf clover in all the years I've looked for one, but it really doesn't matter. We are all special and unique in His eyes because He created us that way.
Loved this post and analogy today.
Blessings,

Great analogy! Yes, we are to be unique, different, stand apart. Christ commands that we live IN the world, not OF it!
Thanks, Sonya.
Thanking God for the differences He makes in me!
I may be like your daughter; I have always had a knack for finding four-leaf clovers. It was something my grandmother showed us girls growing up, so I always think of her. (Plus, she's Irish and had that luck-of-the-Irish thing about her).
Might think of the 4 leaves as us with the Trinity--definitely unique and set apart for great purpose!
Enjoyed this...thanks!
Sonya,
I'm a 'fan' of yours...to see what that means...please do stop by my site. I have a surprise waiting there for you.
I enjoy your blog so much. It, along with many others, fills me up.
Thank you.
Blessings,
Alleluiabelle
As God's people we are called to be "set apart" thanks for this precious reminder to set ourselves apart and give God the glory for it! You are a treasure!
This is so cool, I have never found one either, she is so blessed wow 10 We all are so unique in our own special ways aren't we! Going to share your post with a some friends.
Great Post!!
Have a beautiful and Blessed Easter my friend :)
I don't think I've ever found a four leaf clover, either -- and I'm 53! You've got one lucky little gal there :)
Wow, your daughter is fortunate to have found all those 4-leaf clovers...like everyone else who has commented, I haven't ever found one, either.
Cute post, Sonya. Have a blessed Easter week!
