Thankful Thursday #44

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Welcome to Thankful Thursday! If you'd like to participate, just copy the T.T. button on my sidebar and paste it into your post. Next write down five things you are thankful for this week. Finally, come back here and link up with Mr. Linky. It's that easy!

Here's my list for this week:

1) I am thankful that my husband values being healthy. He wants us to be healthy (both spiritually and physically) and he is willing to let me try all sorts of healthy recipe's on him (as long as it doesn't contain peas!LOL!). I appreciate how much he values these things.

2) I am thankful that Tim and I are on a retreat and we have family who is willing to step in and house sit for us while we are away. As a couple, it is so important to take time to be together.

3) I am thankful that my kids did great on their three week reports that just came home from school! WOOOOHOOO! We celebrated with Ice cream floats for a snack. :)

4) I am thankful that I am part of a praise band at my church. If you asked me when I feel closest to God I would answer, "When I'm singing." Being a part of a praise band gives me lots of opportunities to stop and sing during the week.

5) I am thankful for the power of prayer! Recently Tim and I were talking to a friend whose marriage is in trouble and when we had no more words that would encourage, we just stopped and prayed for them. God is the one source of comfort that our words cannot compete with! He is the God of comfort!

I love singing to the Lord, too. I'm so glad that He never gets tired of hearing our prayers :). Yes, He is the God of comfort and the God of marriage-mending.

Have a wonderful retreat with your husband!

This is my first time participating in your Thankful Thursday meme. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Peas are good for you. I am the only one in my family that will eat them. Our school report wasn't quite so good. Ditto on the #4. I love singing to God. I will pray alongside you on #5.

I love praising the Lord in song also, and even do it in church for special music! There's just something about it!
Praises,

You have many talents and such a heart for OUR Jesus.

**Would you like a recipe for guacamole made out of peas?**

Love to ya!

That's when I feel closest to God too...when I'm singing. Though I still haven't joined a choir or anything. ;)

Sonya, I love to worship by singing, too. Just posted a piece last night on my blog, in fact, that tells about a surprise audience I had during what I thought was a private singing session to the Lord :)

Enjoy your time with your husband!

I like your #5. Sometimes all you can do is pray, and it's comforting to know that when we can't directly help in a situation, we can turn to the One who can!

Love and Blessings, Leslie

Sonya,

Gotta love all your wonderful blessings this week. We share quite a few of them in common. Besides our wonderful Father in whom there wouldn't be Thankful Thursdays after all, but I too love singing and lifting our voice to Heaven.

I too, will be adding my prayers to the couple whose marriage is in peril. May God soften both of their hearts and allow them to see each other with His eyes.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Oh, no way, you're in a praise band?!? I would LOVE to be in one, or a choir, or anything involving singing/music. I lack the guts to ask or try out, though. Maybe someday...

I'm thankful for the encouragement and inspiration that I've found from fellow bloggers who are followers of Jesus Christ.

And I'm thankful for the beautiful weather this summer has brought. Never have I experienced such a cool weathered summer. It's been wonderful.

Love your list, Sonya. As always, I find it inspiring.

You are incredibly blessed to have a husband who wants to stay fit in both ways, and who is willing to try new foods.

And AMEN on #5 and the power of prayer. Thank God for friends like you who are willing to pray!
