Time Together

After 16 years of marriage, my husband and I have realized the importance of making time for "us." Over the weekend, we went away for 2 nights and 3 days without the kids.

We are still waiting to hear if the bank has accepted our offer on the house, but we went to Green Front furniture just to dream.

They had some lovely selections, and some not so attractive things. (Yes these are bull horns!) You could put this piece in your sales office and say, "Come to my store, we cut through the Bull here!"

We had some fun checking out the yard decorations.

We had some trouble with the wild animals, though!

After a long day, and 10 warehouses, we both decided to take a well deserved break.

Spending time together is a great way to just refresh and renew with one another. We came home ready to get back into the hectic schedules of our lives, but we have a peace knowing that in just a few days, we'll hang out once again. If you haven't been away with your spouse lately (without the kids!) then I suggest you plan a trip, it does amazing things for your relationship and your sanity! LOL! God Bless!

It is fun to get away with your honey every now and then. BUt when we do, we seem to talk about the kids and grandkids and wonder what they are doing!

Looks like you had a great time.

You looked like you were having a great time!

Alone time? Great idea, now if I could just convince my husband, how important this is.

You know somewhere out there is a couple that thinks that that bull horn couch would look great in their living room. I bet it sells due to your blog.

The couple getaway is a great idea and my wife and I need to do that too. We never have any time alone without our chidren and we are drifting apart.

Green Front....(sigh!) It's been a long time. We got our one and only true Rug (captial R) form Green Front. But, we did that trip with a 3-year-old CJ, who had a ball running through all those mini-rooms in the warehouses, and I mean RUN!

Would be very nice to do that trip again sans kids. I hear what you're saying, but it's quite a task to pull off. We are happy for our date time, and we're overdue for that, too!

Thanks for the reminder....I'm E-mailing the sitter now!

I believe with all my heart that time alone flames the love. Love with-in....like God intended.

Good for YOU!

Yes, getting away once in a while is a good thing! As our kids have gotten older, we've managed to do this more (which means once a year!). Last October we went to a bed and breakfast in Jim Thorpe, PA. It was a nice time together, especially since I had miscarried a few weeks before the trip.

Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of our first date! Next March we'll celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We're hoping to spend it at the bed & breakfast in Charleston, SC, where we honeymooned.

Glad you had fun!
