Confidence

My eight year old son came home from church on Sunday and asked me this question:

"Mom, what does it mean to have confidence in Christ?"

WOW, I thought. What a huge question for my young son. I am starting to see words like pastor, evangelist in his future! Anyhow, I had to stop and think about that one. This is something that I "know" that I have, but how do you articulate this?

I answered like this:

"I can trust Christ with my life, even unto death."

This seemed to please him and he flashed me his million dollar smile and gave me a hug.

How would you answer his question? Leave a comment and let me know.

That when you see only one set of footprints in the bad times, you realize that it's not because God abandoned you, but because he is carrying you.

Great question!

We can have confidence in him for salvation.
Confidence knowing he is on our-side.
In Hebrews it tells us to hold on to our confidence because it brings a great reward. We need to be confident in order to receive it.
Great post, kids can really get us thinking can't they? That's why we have to be so careful because they are learning from us.

WOW! WHAT an answer! Go Momma!
PTL... "I can trust Christ with my life even unto death."

I would have answered,
Confidence in Christ comes when you've asked Him into your heart, you can then trust He will forever be with you.

Okay Sonya, .... it's beautiful here, and I'm fixin to go look further!

Confidence in Christ for me is knowing that his death on the cross is ALL I need to enter God's presence and be accepted as His child. I have no confidence in myself.
Hope your family is doing well. Miss you!!

Confidence in Christ - I am secure in Him because He is completely trustworthy. I am at rest in Him, have peace because of Him.

Wow what a blessing to have your child ask you that. Great answer, and likely the one God gave you to best give him the proper understanding. Not only that but it's short and to the point.
