I'm Called to do What?

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

When you meet a young person who is about to start their journey in college, what is the first question you want to ask them?

For me I ask, "What do you want to do with your life?"

Don't you cringe when they respond, "I don't know what I am going to do."

My next thought is, why are you wasting everyone's time and money going to college if you are unsure? But, I know that by the end of their college years they will probably have direction.

Sometimes we can get confused even after college and wonder what our purpose in life is.

I love how God makes it CRYSTAL CLEAR what our purpose is: Mark 16:15, to tell the world about Jesus and what He has done.

How does this relate to everyday life?

We should be prepared at all times to share the good news about Jesus with others - yes even strangers.

We are supposed to be the light of the world. Let's not hide our little light under a bush but instead lets be a light in the darkness.

I want to challenge you this week to wake up each morning and pray. Ask the Lord to give you opportunities to be a light in a dark world.

Sonya,

Such great advice! I don't know if anyone really knows what they want to do when they head off to college. Hopefully by the end of graduation they will have a sense of what they want to do.

I know as my oldest daughter is nearing her last couple of years in high school she is already being asked those questions and she quite honestly does not know.

She is doing a lot of volunteering during her summers and is taking an internship at a big company next summer just to try out the job market in hopes of looking for the thing that you are truly passionate about.

Good challenge! I've recently added 1 Sam. 12:23 to my daily challenge. It is a sin against God to not pray for others who need to be forgiven or saved! Good post.

This is an awesome post. I had something similar in mind for my midweek post. I was going to offer another challenge.

Friday I ran into my spinning class instructor at the gym. She was there to exercise and not teach. We had an interesting conversation about God and Prayer. I don't know where God is leading me but he is leading me.

I love your post. I always come back to the simple reason for my existence and find comfort- to know God and make Christ known, especially to those who don't know Him! I was one of those youth you mentioned who had no clue- about my future or anything else. I am so thankful God got a hold of my life at age 19 and continues to direct my path!
See you Wed. Laurie
