Monday's Mercies

How do you feel about Monday mornings? I know so many people who really despise them! I used to fall into that same category, until I changed my attitude.

Week after week, I would fall short and miss the mark with this or that. But then, each Monday morning began to represent a new week with a fresh start to get it right. I know that God's mercies are new every morning, and I am so grateful for that fresh mercy, but I need to give myself a break as well.

I can be very critical of myself and get downright depressed if I allow my mind to beat me up for all of my failures. That's why it has become a very important part of my life to celebrate Monday's as a fresh new week, and to glorify God for His mercies as I approach the new week with a renewed heart and spirit.

If you've been down on Monday's perhaps you should take a fresh new look at the opportunity to start each week anew with God.

Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

What a great attitude! Actually, I love Mondays because...SCHOOL!! *grin*. But actually the winter months are the ones where I get the blahs, so Jan & Feb are really tough for me. So I will focus on the renewing presence of God, not just on Mondays, but every day. AMEN!

sounds like you have the attitude of gratitude. Mondays I have to problem with, I use to feel this way and let it depress me, but I also heard this song awhile back and learned that "Everyday with you Lord is Sweeter than the day before" I sing it on Mondays, Tuesdays, all week long.
Great post,
Be Blessed today

That is exactly how I feel this Monday, not just a fresh new week but a fresh new year running away in front of me. The potential is so inspiring! Thank you for your words.

I am so glad the Lord give us new mercies each day. Everymorning when I get up to let the dogs out. I see the sun begin to rise and I say to myself - his mercies are new each morning. It gives me the strenght to know He and you are at my side.

I love the truth that His mercies are new every morning. I don't know where I'd be without them!

What a great way to look at Mondays. I actually like Mondays. I just never put the "why" into words but what you said made a lot of sense.

Mondays don't bother me now but I know once I start working again they will-- so I will try to remember your wonderful attitude!

Thanks for the encouragement Sonya! I usually get "the paralasis of analaysis" on Mondays. The tasks seem daunting before me, as if I have to get the whole week done in one day.

I constantly fight on Mondays to get God's perspective. (confessions of a self-reliant,first-born sheep again)

This will help me make a concious effort to take it (that attitude) captive before it captures me...
