Discovering Me

This has been a crazy year so far. If you've been following my blog posts you know that change is the theme for me right now. If you're new here I'll re-cap.

1) After seven years of homeschooling, I'm sending my kids to our local Christian school (at our church).

2) After living in my house for the past 10 years we are moving about 12 miles further into the country.

3) After staying at home for the last 16 years, I'm going to be working at my husband's office 2 mornings per week.

A few posts ago I blogged about changes and how the only thing that is not going to change in our lives is God. He is who He says He is, and He does what He says He will do.

Today I'm realizing that there should be another thing that is constant, what He says about me (and you). He has a lot to say about us in His Word and it doesn't change. This week I am going to focus on who I am in Christ's eyes because I need to find some of that consistency in my life.

I am a child of the living God.

I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and my name is in the Lambs book of life.

I am marvelously and wonderfully made.

God has prepared good works for me to do even before I was born. (my purpose in life)

God has chosen me to serve and glorify Him.

God wants to have a relationship with me so badly that He send His only son to die and then be ressuracted for my life.

He created me exactly the way He wanted me to be. I am perfect through the blood of Jesus.

Ok, that's just the tip of the ice berg! I hope this list will encourage you this week. We are of great value, because our Father said so!

I am learning this lesson as well. My value must come from Him. Then nothing else matters. :-)

Amen sister! Be blessed this week as all these changes occur. You are right, he is where our value comes from! He loves us sooo incredibly much! Unfathomable!

Love in Him is being sent your way.

At some point down the line, you will reflect on your past blog posts and see the hand of God working seamlessly through all of these huge earthly events. You will see how you, perhaps, struggled in some places and how you were completely upheld by Him. You will see surprises of grace. You will see the unexpected in your eyes, which was all part of the "good works" in His eyes.

And the more you can see this now, through your faith, the more you will rest in Him with everything!

You sound strong and encouraged!

Amen! Living out my identity in Christ can be such a struggle for me at times, but I know it is the only way to fulfill God's plans for me. Thanks for the reminder and I pray God will give you strength and perseverence as you make these changes. Love, Heather

I love to go back and make lists of the "things that we know to be true" about God and our relationship with Him. It is a real faith-builder!
